Where to Start

Step 1: Call Rosetown Funeral Home – 07 870 2137

It’s amazing how much of a difference can be made by one simple phone call. Firstly, we will be able to answer any questions you may have. Secondly, we can make a plan together about how to proceed. This will include organising a time and place to meet with you and any others who will be making funeral arrangements. It will also involve arranging a transfer from the place where the death has occurred.

Step 2: Contact Next of Kin & Family

Following a death, it is best to surround yourself with those closest to you, as this provides a valuable support network. It is also helpful for deciding who will be involved in making the funeral arrangements, and when they can get together. This is especially important when different family members are out of town, or unavailable at the time.

Step 3: Contact Your Family Doctor or Attending Physician

Before a burial or cremation can take place, the required documentation must be issued by the doctor. We can obtain these documents for you in the process of arranging the funeral. Under some circumstances, the doctor is unable to issue these forms. If this is the case, the Coroner will need to be involved. If the death has occurred in a hospital or nursing home, the duty nurse or other staff member will often do this task for you.
