To Yvonne & Family,
It is with great sadness that l learn of the death of Gordon.
Myself and the Hamilton family go back many years. I have
wonderful memories of the acquaintance and really appreciate
the friendly and generous welcome bestowed on me.
Being farmers in the Manawaru area required a special type of
person. The Hamilton clan were definitely to the fore when it came
to building the dairying image. There were times when l was in awe
of the size of the dairy operation.
To you Yvonne , yourself and Gordon were good friends. Many a
time you opened your home to allow the community to meet to
discuss drainage issues. I remember those morning teas. The County
had an engineer, Lister Barnes, who insisted he was invited to those
teas.
I extend to you and your family my deepest sympathy and wish
you all the strength needed at this time. Gordon will be sadly missed.
With deepest sympathy,
Robin Reid.
Thanks Robin for sharing your memories of Gordon. He always talked about you and his Manawaru days. We will miss him.
